Ever
feel that your teeth could use a makeover? Then you should think
about visiting a cosmetic dentist pretty soon because he or she is
likely the only person who can give you a finer set of pearly whites.
Now, don’t take it as if the dentist is going to remove your “bad”
teeth and replace them with something better; he or she will only
improve on them through various ways.
The
first and quite popular dental cosmetic treatment is a teeth
whitening procedure. It is somehow similar to brushing your teeth
with whitening toothpaste, but only better. In-office whitening or
“bleaching” procedures are more extensive and they target the
enamel of your teeth, which is where the discoloration of your teeth
really happens. If that’s not to your liking, the dentist can place
veneers on the surface of your teeth instead. Veneers are thin pieces
of porcelain or ceramic which are designed to hide blemishes and
damages on your teeth.
If
your imperfect smile stems from the fact that you have crooked teeth,
then the dentist can install braces to straighten them. However, many
people don’t want their teeth to have noticeable and cumbersome
metal appliances, which is why they opt for clear aligners or
invisible braces, such as Invisalign, instead.
